Meet Bobby Ñunez, Intern

Bobby Nunez, Intern at Northwest Christian Church in Acworth, GA
Family?

My wife Lisa and I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters; Madeline who is 8 years old and Charlize who is 5 years old. Lisa and I have been married since 2000.

Ministry/ Professional background?

Most of my life I have worked in industrial maintenance, mainly certified welding.  My focus really changed some years ago when my journey to God’s will began.  I became the men’s ministry servant here at NWCC and my life has never been the same.  I have since started along the path to professional ministry with formal bible training at Atlanta Christian College.  I hope to achieve my Bachelors in Biblical Studies in the spring of 2011.

Favorite book/music/TV show/movie?

My favorite book is the Bible (I had to say that).  Actually, I’d have to say “Wild At Heart” by John Eldredge.  I like contemporary Christian music, I love old TV shows like the Honeymooners or I Love Lucy, and one of my favorite movies is “Braveheart”.

What do you like to do for fun/in your spare time?

My spare time is spent with my family - anything to do with my girls.  We really love family camp!

What do you like best about working at NWCC/what brought you here?

Well I just started as an Intern and everything has been so awesome.  I mean, I love the people and the work that we do. The idea of doing God’s kingdom work is an absolute thrill to me.  I truly believe God brought me here to NWCC; my future in full time ministry is meant to be here.  God has so many wonderful things in store for us here at NWCC, we’ve only scratched the surface.  I think we do a good job of modeling ourselves after the early church in the book of Acts.  We are committed to each other as well as the community.  We are, for lack of a better word, like a family.

What is your philosophy of ministry/why do you do what you do/what are you passionate about in your ministry?

This answer could go on and on but I will attempt to keep it brief.  I believe God wires us a certain way to use for work for his kingdom.  As his Word says, “he knitted us together in our mother’s womb”.  The way I see it is God took his time on each and every one of us; he didn’t just throw us together.  We must remember that we are his masterpiece!!  Which always leads me to ask why??  Because he loves us sooooo much!!  Then, of course, I think of his son Jesus Christ and the price he paid for me.  To think, if I was the only one left on this earth he would have done it JUST FOR ME!!!  So Jesus - that’s what I am passionate about.  Serving him is the least I can do!  As for ministry and what we are supposed to do, Jesus told us very simply to make disciples of all nations.  So is that ministry? Maybe ministry is everywhere and everyone is a minister!
