Meet Chad Crouch, Worship Minister
Family?
I live in Marietta with my wife Lauren and my dog Pup Pup Mia.
Ministry/ Professional background?
I graduated from Atlanta Christian College in 2007. I have previously worked at Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta, and also interned at my home church, Community Christian Church in Sharpsburg, GA before coming to NWCC in 2008.
Favorite book/music/TV show/movie?
Narrowing these things down to a favorite is absolutely impossible, so here are a few: Music - Explosions in the Sky, David Crowder Band, God Is An Astronaut, Future of Forestry, Sigur Ros, Hans Zimmer, Steve Fee, Kristian Stanfill, Dashboard Confessional, Hillsong United, Damian Rice, & my ole pal Danny Brewer (check him out!). TV shows - CSI (only the original, the other stuff is spinoff rubbish!), Lost (over soon unfortunately), House, Fringe, American Idol (not ashamed of that at all). Movies - Shawshank Redemption, Last Samurai, Gladiator, Braveheart, Across the Universe, Crash.
What do you like to do for fun/in your spare time?
My wife and I love to watch good movies, work on the house, hang out with great friends and family, and play with the dog. Going out to eat is also a lovely pastime.
What do you like best about working at NWCC/what brought you here?
The fact that we have our own bottled water with our Logo on it. How cool is that?
What is your philosophy of ministry/why do you do what you do/what are you passionate about in your ministry?
My philosophy of ministry is 3 fold: Love God, Love People, and do everything with excellence to serve God and people. Christians are often not known as being the most loving people in the world. That’s pretty sad considering that’s one of the greatest things we’re called to do. We are supposed to be striving to look more and more like Jesus every day, and did we forget about the fact that GOD IS LOVE? We’ve certainly gone wrong somewhere. There are so many people the church ostracizes, and these are the very people Jesus ran to. We need to be reaching out to all people! Finally, we serve a mighty and awesome God. He deserves our absolute best, and I believe he calls us to do everything with excellence. Christians should have more motivation and inspiration than anyone else. Why should the secular world ever do anything better than the church? The answer…they shouldn’t.
