Meet Kellie Dailey, Director of Children's Ministries

Kellie Dailey, Children's Director at Northwest Christian Church in Acworth, GA
Family?

I am married to Jason, and have two kids (Emma and Grayson), two cats, two dogs.

Ministry/ Professional background?

I graduated from Kentucky Christian University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, and then from University of West Georgia with a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I taught in the public school system for 12 years, and then in 2006 came on staff here at Northwest as full time children's director.

Favorite book/music/TV show/movie?

I am anxiously awaiting the final season of "Lost"…so sad. I love anything written by James Herriot. I’m also a big fan of the "Mitford" series by Jan Karon. Reading and sharing children's lit is one of my great joys in life.

What do you like to do for fun/in your spare time?

Run, Run, Run …I'm thoroughly addicted to it. I started running 5k's last Spring and I’m moving on to the 10k's now. Hopefully there's a half marathon in my future.

What do you like best about working at NWCC/what brought you here?

Our family was drawn to Northwest seven years ago after the first Sunday we visited. The folks are so genuine…it simply felt like family. Northwest loves kids and that was apparent the moment we walked in. I saw people loving kids and sharing the love of Jesus with them. Since that is where my passion lies, I was hooked.

What is your philosophy of ministry/why do you do what you do/what are you passionate about in your ministry?

We live in a crazy, mixed up world where people are searching…searching for answers, searching for hope, searching for help & healing. The Church needs to be the one constant in their life. Our job as the Church is to love families and help them grow and be nurtured in the Lord. Kids especially need to know the love of Christ early on so they can apply it to their daily lives when the world starts pulling at them. It's really all about growing the kingdom of God - if we instill this in our children early on it will simply become second nature for them to search for ways to serve the Lord as they go through life.
